The drain plug on my old Civic came loose once and it dumped all the oil, ran great for about 30 miles until it started smoking like crazy. (And yet it survived many more years after that)

This is the best explanation I’ve read on this, I did think multigrade somehow became more viscous with temperature but this makes more sense.
As the owner of a green British car I agree, but in general there are very few green cars nowadays.
E-e-type
Nice, but the original Jaguar XJ engine is almost as beautiful as the outside of the car so for me that’s what should live under the hood/bonnet. I say this as someone seriously considering going electric for my next daily driver.
I think, but have no way of proving it, that they use mostly series 2 cars but put covered headlights on them, at least that’s what I like to think.
I convinced my mom to buy one and it’s pretty quick and nice to drive for what it is, also surprisingly capable for light off roading (although the stock tires are crap).
They are removable, the window assembly is a flimsy metal frame that holds the window; it has two metal legs that slide into sockets on the door and sort of bolt there.
Fancy! I went for the $4 cable (my phone does have a headphone jack though)
A Morgan?
Depends on the style of the car, my dad has a ‘96 Jaguar Vanden Plas and, in addition to fuel injection, electric windows, (and seats, mirrors, etc...) it does have a wooden steering wheel with an airbag and somehow it works. It does also have about half a forest’s worth of wood scattered everywhere on the interior.
About my classic British car: “It never leaks and it’s reliable”
Hey I have one of those! Mine was a gift I received a long time ago though.
If I remember well the “procedure” for converting them to negative earth is just swapping the battery terminals and “flashing” the dynamo and that’s pretty much it.
Morris Minor
I’m in the same boat, where can I apply to get him to come help with my dad’s Jag? I’m in Guatemala, that would make for a good story and some picturesque landscapes, right?
Nice! It wasn’t working the last time I checked but now it did, guess I have some reading to do, thanks for the heads up!
Were the cops on foot? Were you successful?
I’ve had a car “explode” like that (was in 3rd at redline and shifted to 2nd instead of 4th). Wasn’t that eventful, the engine sounded like an F1 car for about half a second and then most everything inside it had to be changed.
