I knew a guy who had 2 of these, a Phase 1 and a Phase 2; truly crazy cars.

Another dealer wanted to charge me for changing the spark plugs during service.
AC was acting up and showing some error codes, dealer suggested replacing the whole controller unit to the tune of $1,500...
This is what I was going to post, just recently installed a 2.4 into my dad’s Mk1 and although it’s not powerful it’s very smooth and really likes to rev due to the short piston travel.
That would have been low hanging fruit, I kind of want one just because of how weird looking it is.
Having recently driven a rented plug in hybrid I’m now convinced that that’s probably the way to go. Smaller battery but probably enough for day to day use at least for most people and then for a longer road trip the gas engine is there.
6 here, 18 pedals among them as it should be
There’s really tough competition here but I think my dad’s a strong contender.
Under the back seat of the Contour I had in college I found enormous amounts of very long fake fingernails; behind the glove box a set of post-op instructions for breast enlargement surgery... They must have known each other
It’s pretty much the exact opposite of your dog’s requirements but for some reason my poodle’s favorite car to ride in is my MGB GT because from the back seat she can look out the window pretty well. My Gf’s dogs, being more normal, absolutely hate it.
The video quality, the cars, sure this video isn’t from like 25 years ago?
The first Transporter movie with the BMW 7 series was pretty good but the sequels were absolutely terrible.
Had one in college and I had the complete opposite experience, everything broke in that POS. I’m talking suspension issues, windows wouldn’t work, AC never worked, it would stall when it rained and I eventually got rid of it when it decided to randomly shift into 1st gear out of the blue, no matter what speed I was…
Just about a month ago I finished reading a book called A Psalm for the Wild-Built, where a monk travels around in a vehicle I couldn’t quite picture in my head until I saw this!
NP just because it really isn’t much money but I’d rather buy a car with more mechanical problems than rust. In fact that’s what I did a couple of years ago, bought a rust free MGB GT with a blown engine which pretty much just required rebuilding the cylinder head and a new gasket.
Being Australia I’m pretty sure there are spiders big enough to lift their RV and get them out of the mud if they managed to teach them.
Don’t forget
¿Anyone else remember when Hondas came with the little OK Honda stickers? That’s the first thing this made me think of.
I’d say that thing has already pretty much been erased from history.
My experience with mine has been the complete opposite, bought it about 2 years ago for a really good price with a “blown” engine; after a $25 head gasket, $40 rocker shaft and some new seals it’s been running like a dream.
