That was like three years ago

She’s definitely one of my favorite drivers, those Group B cars were monsters.

Genius!

It appears the throttle cable broke

On the Sunbeam, if the car required a $50k restoration it is fair game. It’s usually very difficult to assess how much money a car is going to require as little details can end up costing a lot of money.

Nevermind the looks, is it me or does that thing not have any suspension at all?

He did it correctly though; looking at 911 R prices I wouldn´t be surprised if he got that back and more in resale value if he decided to sell his car.

Not sure about this car in particular but at the time cars used leaf springs all round and some used wood shock absorbers which were wooden discs (sort of like a clutch) sliding against each other.

Despite the terrible state of the car there are many parts that would be useful to someone restoring one that could otherwise be very hard to find.

Yes!!!

Old Hondas never break down

#3. At speed, GPMs probably

Yup, did some googling and confirmed this, RHD cars can have the stalk on either side apparently.

Did some googling and it appears you’re right, RHD cars can come with the stalk on either the left or the right so I’m guessing it’s not standard then. (Most of what I found said it’s depending on the manufacturer)

Would´ve made sense either way actually, just assumed you were from a left-driving country. Makes sense to have the stalks reversed to be able to shift while signaling but I wouldn’t have thought of it.

Wait, RHD cars have the turn signal on the right? This is new information to me.

Probably even a WRX

My point is both scenarios are possible.

Definitely, and the modern engine most definitely has better tolerances and is probably even tougher because of this. Despite the differences main and end bearings, valve guides, pistons, the oil pump and pretty much every other surface I can think of where oil is pumped to are almost identical to even those on an

The engine most definitely operated outside its design parameters and definitely suffered some wear from that. Still, with tight tolerances even with some metal to metal contact might not have been enough to completely destroy the engine. Did it suffer 100,000 mile’s worth of damage in those 10 minutes? Probably, but
