That’s just stupid and wasteful, I live in Guatemala and I’m sure that all those non compliant cars are much cleaner than pretty much everything else on the road here and in many other similar countries. Destroying the cars is not an environmental option.

Don’t think so, bumpy track so you need some suspension travel for better traction, maybe something like an Ariel Atom V8 could do a better time, but it’s so light it might skip in the corners and lose speed.

I would be willing to bet that that car has a fast acting remote controlled kill switch that possibly even applies the brakes to prevent that from happening.

From what I read they have batteries in the trucks and pantographs that automatically raise and lower, so for junctions like the one in your picture they could have just the straight cables up to the junction, then automatically go to battery power for the junction and back up to another straight cable after that…

I was thinking this, the “keys in ignition with door open” chime is obsolete and stupid nowadays, especially with keyless ignition. It’s so common to hear it that people become accustomed to hearing chimes and ignoring them.
