I don’t think he could have done anything, I just know that if that was me, and it has been me (tho I hit the umps arm, not head), I am immediately turning around to check on the guy, like the catcher. Maybe he’s not a jerk, maybe he just doesn’t like blood, but the optics weren’t great for him there

He almost always had good takes (basically the anti hot taker) on the radio, and seems to do a pretty good job on late nite SC though I haven’t watched it much, not to mention the overwhelming praise from colleagues…

This is a really good point. One thing about Simmons is he is extremely good at forecasting popular trends. He was podcasting and saw the potential in it way before mostly everyone else, and I think HBO is investing in Simmons to help lead them into this new era of mass cord cutting.
