I think the issue is that you can be really sure something is true, but have no first or even second hand knowledge of something. It’s one of those “everybody knows” things versus “I saw it” or “person X told me about his experience."

I’m sure you are right about Bryan Singer. I’m surprised this is brought up without mentioning that he has been accused of this before by actual victims. This isn’t coming out of nowhere.
