I was going to make a joke about circlejerking but then realized even that would be an accomplishment far beyond what they’ve actually managed.

Not kidnap their children and forget to keep records of the cages in which they were keeping them.

Not teargas them when they try to legally seek asylum.

Every single unpaid government employee should pick a day and call in sick. Every. single. one.

I think it’s rising because it’s rising among Republicans. Between Trump’s inauguration and now, the wall really wasn’t a top line focus of congressional Republicans (who recognize it for the pointless, unpopular boondoggle it is), and Trump never really made any hard push for it, so it wasn’t such a starkly partisan

They should do something like British Parliment does where they slam the door on Black Rod as a show of defiance to the crown.

It’s never the people responsible who pay the price. Not in the government and not in the private sector. If I think about it too long, it fills me with resentment and rage because I’ve seen and experienced it in my industry. Projects cancelled, studios closed, entire dev teams laid off and the people responsible for

Ever since Trump walked down those stairs in 2015, the stupidity we’ve had to deal with as a result of him has been staggering. And it only got worse with each incremental step along the way...his primary win, his general election win, his inauguration. But this fucking shutdown right here, over this stupid fucking

Yeah, but Trump has personally assured us that every single one of those workers is ok with not getting paid because they understand the importance of the wall getting built and totally support him all the way.

I know they cannot “strike” but I’m really surprised that TSA and some others haven’t just “all” called in sick. They really are not making much of a wage from what I’ve read and if the airports come to a grinding halt something has to give I imagine. At this point even if Trump declares an emergency it gets the ball

He probably also views himself as merciful for not hitting her more or killing her.

Exactly, and it’s even more transparent when after the breakup he repeatedly calls her worthless and disgusting. Like he was her only saving grace.

I’m not arguing that punching people in the face is wrong. I’m arguing that wife-beating is wrong, and deserves broad condemnation instead of gleeful handclaps when the victim is a shitty person themselves. We wouldn’t be having this conversation if Kouprinova got hit for being a Nazi like her shit husband did. But

Also narcissism bingo. The narcissist answers being slighted with an out of proportion response because the very fact he was slighted is the ultimate sin. In his mind, the fact that she frustrated him is morally repugnant and he can punish her how he sees fit.

Misogyny is at the core of these white supremacist movements and always has been.

So Spencer—an outspoken racist, Nazi, and actual fascist (because too many people use the word “fascism” to describe “things I don’t like/laws I don’t want to have to obey,” which is flat-out not what that word means)—is also a spouse-abusing shitcanoe?

Color me surprised.

As someone else (Burners Baby Burners) pointed

Guys like that are so incredibly common that a third of all women murder victims are killed by male intimate partners. Our society is so full of virulent misogyny, guys like this are everywhere.

“...she wrote for many of the same publications as Spencer, and shared many of his views—her politics don’t excuse his abuse.”

I feel for the kids. Who knows if they’ll ever manage to get out of the cycle of hatred perpetuated by their parents. If Kouprianova also believes the same things, neither of these two people should be having unsupervised access to those poor kids.

The way Spencer tries to play victim, like telling someone they will break their nose is normal, is incomprehensible.
