Lindsey Graham, like far too many politicians (of -all- stripes), nourishes himself primarily on the milk of hypocrisy; had President Obama’s appointee had to go through this (and Judge Garland was spared that indignity, thanks largely to the senior Senator from my birth state of Kentucky), you know Graham would

He 100% lied under oath, even about provable facts like the drinking age in Maryland in 1982, which he did not meet, seeing as he was born 8 months after the grandfather clause, which as a judge he should understand clearly.

You’re right. But hopefully, this isn’t 1991 all over again. We are in a different cultural climate now. When we look back at the Anita Hill hearings now, they’re categorized as a sexist, racist travesty. Anita Hill is the hero of the Thomas’ hearings as far as my generation is concerned and maybe the Republicans

I guess I’m just speaking for my age bracket (older millennials) but we’re all collectively embarrassed about having Clarence on the bench and sad about what the Senate put Anita Hill through (looking at you Joe Biden). I don’t doubt that the Republicans recall the Hill hearings and tell themselves everything is okay

Bingo. This is the fuel that drives the trump party. Spite and the hateful application of power.

The trump party is full of racist scum.

Can you imagine being such a fragile human being that you can’t even admit to “With this new information, we agree that Kavanaugh should not be seated. We’re withdrawing his name and submitting Judge John Q. Cracker for the position”?

They caught Sessions perjuring himself during his confirmation hearing, and they voted him in anyway on the basis of “he promises not to do it again.”  The Senate doesn’t care about being a co-equal branch.

One silver lining to Trump is some Americans are finally realizing this.

Uh, what exactly were the career consequences for anyone that was a party to that hearing g? Biden became VP, Hatch is still doing his thing, and Thomas is still doing conservatives' bidding on the SCOTUS. Seems to me a pretty good precedent for not giving a fuck..

I’m so shocked that none of these Senators seem to consider how fucking bad this is going to make them look in the future.

They will stamp their feet very publicly, and say that Kavanaugh has been a very naughty boy, and should attend his Supreme Court hearings, that they will totally vote him into office for, while wearing a Cone of Shame, if that were allowed.

Yeah but it’s just a little light perjury about his personal alcohol use, not serious perjury about, I dunno, personal relationships. Learn the difference!

I’m so shocked that none of these Senators seem to consider how fucking bad this is going to make them look in the future. I was a child during the Anita Hill hearings and wasn’t old enough to remember them but I did learn about them when I was older and was fucking EMBARASSED. Any centrist/democratic Senator that

Just pull the nomination already. Any other person in any other job interview would have been shown the door by now, for fuck’s sake.

Then they’ll vote to confirm but be REALLY deeply troubled.

It’s looking increasingly likely that there is evidence he lied under oath. I’m not sure that will stop Manchin, Collins, Murkowski and Flakefrom confirming him. But do any of them really want to be associated with him in the event that those lies get him impeached from SCOTUS after the midterms?

So are we supposed to be terrifically horrified or horrifically terrified? I guess *45's (& admin’s) incompetence is finally ‘good’ for something? /s
