Mechanical failure that can result in a crash. In the same way that a flat/blown tire is a mechanical failure that can result in a crash.

While typically not something controlled by the occupants, an elevator can definitely crash. The controls can go haywire or the cables can break leading it to fall (or rapidly rise out of control).
By that logic, would a Maglev train fall into the same class of vehicle category as an elevator or an automobile? Or similarly, an individual train car (that is not the locomotive)? Both of these are clearly vehicles but they are also both powered by external means (Maglev by the stationary magnets and a train car…
Technically, a hot dog is not a sandwich. It is an ingredient typically served in a sandwich. To call a hot dog a sandwich is like calling turkey a sandwich. A hot dog is the sausage itself. Granted, normal nomenclature calls a hot dog “sandwich” a hot dog.
That extra time is probably a good thing. With prime, you are much more likely to make impulse purchases (I know I have). I still watch for deals and stuff like that, but if I need something, I don’t really hesitate. Some days, I end up with 2-3 separate orders in the same day.
I straight up ask for a free month. Ever since I found out that you can get a free month for late shipments, I have no problem requesting one as that is their policy. I do think there is a limit. Something like 12 free months per year. Which means you could theoretically get prime free forever as long as you have…
I agree the convenience is great. I am at the point where I am spoiled by the free 2 day shipping that prime provides. Whenever I order something from elsewhere online and it takes a week to be delivered, it seems like forever.
Hmm, I have never had any problems getting an extra month added on for free. I typically do everything online rather than calling them.
The free extra month of prime for late shipments is great. I have used this on multiple occasions. My prime membership just renewed in October when it was originally supposed to renew in February, all due to free extra months for late shipments (that’s 8 free months, a $66 value at the $99 annual rate).
Until recently, I had a 2003 Grand Marquis with just over 90,000 miles on it. If not for mechanical problems, I would still be driving it. Now I’m driving a 2014 Mazda6 with 16,000 miles on it. If I drive the new car at the same rate as the old one, I’ll only put about 9,000 miles on it per year, meaning I won’t…
Yeah, there are definitely a lot of factors that go into it. I have been with Geico for coming up on 12 years now, so that may have something to do with it as well. I also do not have the benefit of being able to bundle home and auto (no big name insurance companies want to write homeowners insurance in Florida…
Yes, you can change whenever you want. You should receive a pro-rated refund of any premiums you have paid to your current insurance company that you will no longer be using as you are switching (ie. $100 monthly premium, switch halfway through month, $50 refund). It may take a little time to get the refund though.
I have heard great things about USAA. Unfortunately I don’t qualify for membership as no one in my immediate family was in the military.
I do this every time my insurance is up for renewal. However, I have not been able to find a company that can even come close to the rates I have with Geico. The prices year to year do seem to creep up, so maybe (as someone else mentioned) I will be able to get a cheaper rate eventually. However, I will continue to…
I agree that you cannot take these labels to mean much, given how their use is not enforced. It might help you navigate a city you spend a lot of time in but if you are traveling in a new area, it may not be very useful. I think I’ll stick to my phone for navigation.
I think they are less rules and more guidelines. There’s nothing that says the roads must be labeled a certain way. But these guidelines make it so that if they are named in this way, they are more easily identifiable. For instance, using the Orlando map as an example, if I was on one street and needed to get to a…
Neighborhoods would most likely not follow these guidelines. I think these would more likely apply to city centers. For example, here is a sample of the downtown Orlando names. As you can see, it follows the streets run perpendicular to avenues convention, with a few other name types thrown in (blvd, alley, etc.)
Maybe it has something to do with having an IUD might end up with women having more unprotected sex. If you are not in a long-term monogamous relationship, your chances for contracting an STI would potentially be higher than someone who is in a long-term monogamous relationship, simply based on number of partner. …
My employer does reimburse for employee training, both when preparing to get qualifications and also to keep those qualifications. I work for an engineering company, so it is important for the employees to have specific certifications to be able to keep the company going. However, I know it is also a strong…
Having the child save towards an individual purchase, such as the Atari you mention, makes a lot more sense than having them save towards a family vacation. My point was that if you have multiple children save towards a common goal like that, and if at least one of them come up short (probably pretty likely), it can…
