People drove 80mph on highways in the 50s and 60s.
I think my antique car is faster and has more range than the Chang Li.
As someone who drives a 1917 touring car (top speed 35) I can address this. First, there is no way in the world I would ever take it on the highway. But I do drive it on secondary roads where the speed limit might be 45 or even 55. I follow all laws and use turn signals and I stay aware of traffic building up and…
It means that people in the cities and on the coasts seem to deal with lots more crime, danger, and just plain inconsiderate a-holes than I experience in my exurban home in the South, an area stereotyped as being the home of everything bad in the U.S.
Jalopnik writers remind me how awful it is to live in more “enlightened” places.
Canadian Girl is epic. Saved her stash, last night’s party clothes, and her Tim Horton’s breakfast. No Fux Given.

I am 100% supportive of public transit... for other people.
Maybe BMW has finally recognized that all their cars are crap since the simple 2 headlight 2002.
I have a shortbed Tundra. I put the tailgate down, load in my plywood or sheetrock, string 2 bungies from the tailgate latches to the hitch and it is very secure. Why is this not good enough?

David isn’t doing this because he wants a nice FC or he would have taken another path. He is doing this because it can be done. Hail to him and all the Sherpas that helped him along the way.
Poor man’s solution: buy 2 quality heavy duty floor jacks. You can jack both sides of the car at one time and it is stable. Then use quality jack stands, of course.
