This is not a movie where you can round up the Bad News Bears to go out and win the championship or train the Karate Kid to take down Cobra Kai. Look around. You don’t have anyone left on the bench with talent, moxie, or grit. There are no more lovable goofs that can express the joy of discovering, fixing, and driving

Wake me up when this all ends.

Tesla FSD training driver.

Despite being repeatedly exposed to terrible decisions that require an override, Tesla stans continue to insist that FSD is just that. People gonna be stupid and you can’t stop them. As a product designer, I believe it is the responsibility of the manufacturer to try to protect idiots from their own idiocy.

What to do if you are a middling billionaire who can’t quite keep up the the Bezos and Musks? Pivot and make your yacht something cool that those guys don’t have.

The teams run tests and simulations around the clock to try all the combinations of components and design ideas. It is not surprising that they have found a few things worth pursuing since they made the first parts.

Except the guys with LIDAR aren’t any closer to real world self driving either. Everyone is 10 years away (or more).

Musk believes FSD is ready when it is significantly better than the average humans in terms of accidents per mile driven. There are several problems with this. First, it is not clear if Tesla’s statistics are valid. Second, comparing the driving safety of new Teslas vs. 12 year old Dodges is well, dodgy. Third, the

Challenger won because there is no vacuum tube shortage.

Stick it to the man. Run it.

Virginia is the Karen State.

I disagree. My Infiniti‘s Auto Headlight setting does not turn the lights on at dusk as soon as I would like.

Poverty spec 1.6L with a 5 speed manual is perfect. Drive it like a spec miata, keeping the engine on the boil, apexing every turn, double clutch downshifting, full throttle everywhere. Tons of fun and rarely exceed the speed limit.

I am a white man but I’m in.

I hear they will be designed by Lucas.
