Thank you for that. One of the hardest things is that he’s so deeply sedated that he’s probably only barely aware that anything is happening, and likely can’t hear us when we talk to him. Coupled with the fact that due to Covid regulations he can only have one visitor per day, seeing him is very difficult.

I always ran in the same circles as the LGBT kids, and middle school was rough for them. It seemed to let up a bit in high school, but there were still slurs aplenty thrown around.

True. I went to school in Kentucky and Indiana, then moved to Seattle later in life. For friends I had there, the concepts of cliques and bullying were pretty alien to them. Of course one guy went to a school that was basically a hippie commune where he ran around barefoot, so experiences do vary.
