I still think "you were in grade school during 9/11", which covers 83-95 seems the most rational cutoff. I see people labeling people born in 2001 millennials and that strikes me as nonsense.

Yeah Monster Zero, Dogora, Mothra, and Godzilla vs. The Thing are all really close in quality, but Ghidorah gets the nod by a hair imo. I can totally see someone picking any of those mid 60s Sekizawa penned Honda movies over it though. Toho was the hit factory of all hit factories for that half decade or so.
As someone whose favorite movie (ok, but top 5 for sure) is Ghidorah, the Three-Headed Monster, I am both pleased and apprehensive about this news.
Yeah the Kinks were the Blur to the Beatles' Oasis.
Two things:
Did you just explain what condescension was to prove you're not condescending?
Eggers has been pretty samey since just after Heartbreaking. Given the subject, I assume this will fit in with his magical ultrarealism thing pretty cleanly, so if you like his stuff read it if you don't, don't.
Fair point. Personally, I kind of like movie series that get so frequent that they become interchangeable. But the later Spiderman movies just lost the fun factor and got so dark and broody.
Oh give or take 2 or 3 I think they're all pretty good, but I think the best episodes riff movies that aren't terrible, just goofy.
Yup it's definitely Warner. There's a bit on the commentary track for GRA about them finding the boxes and the suits years later.
Someone (August Ragone IIRC) said that the Biollante suit is literally housing a family of cats. And given how many times Showa Goji catches fire, it's a miracle there's anything left of any of them. Although supposedly the Godzilla Raids Again suit is in a box at Universal(?) Studios somewhere semi intact.
It is looking more and more like GMK to me. Plot and tone seem very un-Godzilla, but it looks like it will be a blast in it's own right.
Well, they aren't really meant for any foreign market so I can't really blame them. They do have Japanese subtitles (which is kind of rare actually) and commentary tracks and shorts and trailers. When you take out shipping, the prices are kinda decent, especially compared to the Ultraman boxes that are like $500 or…
I thought he was personally fine in those movies.
An Affair to Remember?
Oh it would have to be a Toho movie; hopefully they can dig up the original suit, kick the rats out of it but leave the holes they chewed, spray some Lysol on it and use it as is.
Damn it. Well hopefully it's decently priced. I tend to import in bunches to keep shipping down so I might grab it when Shin Goji hits the shelves if it's out by then.
The dubbing kills me. Linda Miller (who is strangely dubbed in both versions) is intolerable in the English cut, and decent in the Japanese cut.
Isn't the fact that your quintessential Kong movie is itself a remake an argument for remakes?
The fact that that still hasn't made it's way state side is beyond me, and put me out $50 to import the Toho Blu Ray to boot.
