Yeah, remember when we thought the web would revolutionize journalism by making it something that could be done by anyone from anywhere? Instead, somehow it became even more vapid, insular, and New York centric. Weird.

Okay and?
literally the only thing that makes people lose weight is a caloric deficit. You could eat salt coated lard and so long as you maintained a deficit you would lose as much weight as you needed to. You’re arguing nutrition, we are talking weight loss.
People assume that vegans = plants, plants = salad, salad = healthy, therefore vegan = healthy
if enough people make the choice to not eat the meat, the industry will go away. Surely you understand the logic here?
In Britain it is still usually called “the orient” and people from East Asia are usually called “oriental”. Other countries have different concepts of what language is considered offensive
The amazing thing is that for all the obsessions with macros and carbs, calories in-calories out is still the only honest way to ensure weight loss.
Moore definitely begat Spurlock. It was clearly directly inspired by Bowling For Columbine.
I will never understand why Super Size Me caught on in the way it did. Like it was so lazy, the thesis so obvious, there was nothing of interest to it. In retrospect, the entire thing seems more like a sneering piece of Bush era culture war ammo. Socking it to the red-state fast food eaters who were too stupid to…
the problem is that panel shows have never worked in the US and 8 out of 10 Cats Does Countdown is still fundamentally part panel show

meh, a lot of traditional British foods are way more spicy than I think Americans realize. Like haggis has always been spicy.
Yeah, Indian food in the UK is effectively at the same level of penetration as Mexican in the US. They serve similar functions.
Chipotle is still the favorite of people lying to themselves about this kind of food being healthy or about brands being fundamentally good or w/e. But Qdoba is way better
Yes, first mushrooms (usually portobello caps) then came blackbean now these.
almost nobody in western countries is a vegetarian because they hate meat or have never tried it.
Also, I feel like it’s easier to sub in a replacement for Lyndon LaRouche when you know who that is.
I don’t fully get this logic. If you don’t speak the language, how are you appreciating the verbal aspects of the performance at all? You just know they are speaking, for all you know the accents could be fucked in a way that would be glaring to a speaker (like a cowboy with thick Brooklynese or something).
