"Stacks Got Stoned" would be a great band name.

But nobody actually enjoys watching Raging Bull. Unless you're misanthropic.

I'm so conflicted, because Bringing Out the Dead and The Departed are both in my Top Three Scorsese movies. My brother quotes The Departed probably at least once or twice a week.

Now I picture Ray Liotta, wearing nothing but an old fashion baby diaper (with a giant safety pin holding it together on the side) swiggin from a Budweiser and howling "Why DID I DO THIS, KAREN? WHY DID I DO THAT?!?"

Jesus Tap Dancin Christ, what's with crappy Box Art these days?

Every time somebody criticizes the use of montage and music in a film I just think, "I guess Scorsese just does it so well he gets a pass?" because I fucking love this style of movie. It moves.

I always wonder if these people talk like that, or just don't know how to write. "Same message than the Clash?" If you didn't have an idea about their intent, you wouldn't have any idea what that sentence means.

It's quite "problematic" and possibly could be disrespectful to people who have been sick before (which is everyone).

Age and The Booze, usually.

So?

This movie and The Godfather really confirmed my suspicions about my Mother and her Italian Family: They're all FUCKING OBSESSED WITH FOOD AND COOKING. No wonder so many Italians are big as houses. Shit.

Jesus, I always think I've watched the last fight before the big blowup during the 3rd Act, and then Good God THERE'S ANOTHER SCENE of De Niro kicking her out of the house, then letting her come back, after he overheard her on the phone trying to find a hitman to whack her husband. Yeesh.

She did what was required. it's the character that people find annoying. Too much like one of the Real Housewives of Las Vegas.

I can't stand Raging Bull because De Niro's Jake La Motta is such a realistic depiction of a Raging Asshole. I'd rather share an elevator with Travis Bickle, Rupert Pupkin, and Max Cady than just La Motta.

Yeah, he was the "Man at the Helm" during on of the most turbulent times in American History, up there with The Great Depression and The Civil War.

"Dead Kids, Jayzus Christ. Now HOW'D WE EVER GIVE THE DEMOCRATS A WEAPON LIKE THIS?!?" (Slams hand on table).

I actually have seen Casino a dozen more times than Goodfellas, because it's kind of like a "Greatest Hits" package of Mob Movies. Goodfellas from the POV of Jimmy and Tommy basically, you don't have to wince at the violent beatings and murders, because everybody's an asshole in that flick, it's wonderful.

We're the Bad Guys?

Every couple years since 1999 I've tried to get into The Sopranos… just couldn't give a shit. It seemed to focus on the most boring elements of films like Goodfellas and The Godfather.

Strangely, it was the famous College episode in Season 1 that turned me off to the show. I dunno, wasn't drawn into Tony Soprano's story or his problems.
