I’ve had three different laptops essentially bricked by Windows updates.  Luckily I had backups I could reinstall, but none of them ever worked as well as they did beforehand.

I’ve got a laptop from 2009 still running strong with Ubuntu. It used to be a dual-boot, but the Windows side crapped out many years ago.  I’m not a particularly computer savvy person, but I have no trouble doing basic things.  I think Linux is more accessible than a lot of people realise.
