Yeah, except this only works in a thick market. If it’s your only option (assuming it is, based on the article saying cabs are hard to find and public trans is bad), you’re going to keep using lyft/uber even if you’d prefer for them to use fingerprint checks. It’s going to be hard for another company with more

Poe’s Law strikes again.

Yeah I think llamaguy was being facetious, but it is hard to distinguish from the real thing.

Except that’s really just the excuse, Uber’s using legal loopholes to fuck both their customers and their “contractors”, and in some cases they also fuck the cities they operate in for good measure (some cities restrict the availability of taxi licenses to control traffic, for instance), because libertarianism, and

When you say things like “free shit” re: Bernie you’re basically saying “i have absolutely no idea what i’m talking about”

How does he get ripped off? He has their car as collateral, even wrecked I’d think it would be worth more than the tow.

They are very balanced and totally rational to any democracy outside the US that actually has good social safety nets

I do make $100k/year and I support him. I dont want anything for free (except free Uber rides like that guy in Funbag lucked into) but I would appreciate it if roads and bridges were maintained/improved.

Yeah, I’m sure he has had many interactions with “socialist-minded” people and that they have “berned” him! That’s a totally plausible scenario, just like God talking to him.

But that didn’t happen, did it? We’re talking about a Trump supporter denying a Bernie supporter help. Could the same happen if it was the reverse? Certainly. Would most Trump supporters do the same that this guy did? Likely not, because they’re probably not assholes. But trying to justify this because the possibility

Bullshit.

Funny thing is, leaving is absolutely the opposite of what Jesus would have done.

As a business traveler who travels all over the USA, I have to say that Uber has been a huge improvement. You can schedule the service before you arrive and provide your destination and the car is waiting for you. The Uber rides have always been cleaner and nicer to be in that a taxi. The taxi services have to step up

Because they honestly still believe, regardless of all evidence, that they’re the fearless, intrepid Fourth Estate. They really hate when someone points out that they’re a bunch of comfortable hacks whose shilling for those in power would make Pravda blush.

And the part about Morning Joe was so incredibly real.

I agree. I’m a fan of his show and I was really rooting for him to do well. It’s a big moment. The delivery was off. It created some bad vibes that didn’t need to be there, which in turn made a whole segment of his jokes come across as venal or too obscure. On the other hand one of my favourite parts was the reaction

Agreed. I was looking forward to biting humor, making fun of white people, etc. Especially during the first half, it just wasn’t funny. I get most of my news via the web, not from tv, so maybe that was part of the problem? And Wilmore’s delivery was amateurish. He got better with the Zodiac killer parts. Otherwise, I

She sorta back tracked on her being OK with Trump winning because of hopes for a revolution on Colbert last week.

I like CSPAN, but his HDMI1 joke cracked me up

People are fucking weird. This was HILARIOUS. And all the more so by how many complete cringe worthy moments there were, of all these media people being entirely unable to laugh at them selves. Did you guys see Blitzer’s face?? If eyes could kill, Larry would be dead. Dead, I tell ya.
