Being that I work at one of the automotive OEMs, I’ve also talked to a few of them as well, and they’re usually quite honest and VERY, VERY good at their jobs (so long as you’re not asking something that’s “hyper” technical).

Power Wheels F-150 of course!

The real downside to my CVT is its torque transmission capacity. The other downside comes from the powertrain/drivetrain itself.

With a 6-speed, I pretty much skipped starting in 1st and just start in second, then shift to third, then skip-shift to 5th and leave it there for tooling around town. And if there is a spot that I can hit 37 mph, into 6th I go and I leave it in there for cruising around town and all highway driving.

“What’s wrong with a manual on a highway?”

You can rev your engine, while stopped in a traffic jam, with an automatic as well too!

“There are so many good driving roads out there, and they are even better with a manual.”

It depends.

“My favourite feature is that, as long as your seatbelt is on, you don’t have to disengage it when taking off - you just accelerate and it gauges the right moment to release for a smooth roll-free take off.”

I set the parking brake on my wife’s 2008 Volvo XC90 when I park it in our driveway.

re: 1st gear

Doesn’t look all too different compared to my 2013 Ford Fusion Titanium Hybrid.

The front fascia is different, steeper leading edge of the hood, and a hatch. But side view - pretty close.

I’ve actually had some people tell me that my 2013 Ford Fusion hybrid could be used for spy missions (basically) (because it’s so quiet).

So.... what you’re telling me is that only a certain percentage of the demographic will be able to drive your product then? If you’re a 5th percentile female, too bad for you.

Now playing

Yeah! Damn pesky regulations - making our cars all safe and crap.

Let’s get rid of ‘em. Airbags? Who needs ‘em?

The One National Program for fuel economy and emissions has been known since at LEAST 2009/2010 so Marchionne’s decision NOT to direct his company to do anything about it in response to it (for regulatory compliance) is entirely his decision, supported by the Board of Directors.

That interior is still sooo boring.

Chevrolet/Corvette’s “computer aided gear selection” (CAGS) has been widely publicised and published so they’re not hiding anything.

Pre-programmed racing lines only work when there are no other cars there.

I don’t put my car in park at a stoplight, but I do put the e-brake on and I DO take my foot off the service brakes when I do that.
