Again, you CAN do it. Whether you want to or not is an entirely different question.

The Model X P60 MSRPs at $67,200 including delivery. According to their loan calculator, with $5000 down, 1.74% APR and $7500 in incentives, your monthly payment works out to be $863 for 78 months. That’s more than my mortgage (and I’m an engineering, working at one of the OEMs as an engineer).

That’s such a false dichotomy.

“...so I don’t see why the EPA and NHTSA don’t ask the Europeans for help and advice once in a while.”

Also, because ‘Murica! That’s why.

WLTP is a perfect example of that. Everybody else in the world is going to the new worldwide harmonized light vehicle test procedure EXCEPT the US, and therefore; by extension, Canada.

“The SUVs and trucks will hit between 50 to 52.6 mph average fuel economy, the government estimates.”

I think that’s supposed to read mpg.

They can. Except for the fact that the recent cases involving Teslas proves that people aren’t always honest when it comes to crashes (duh?) and therefore, the logs that are in Teslas have, I think, proved their worth/value.

It is my understanding that cars that are equipped with EDRs actually must say so in the owner’s guide/manual. Whether people READ said owner’s guide/manual is another point of discussion altogether.

...except that most people don’t know what the delta would be with and without collision coverage.

Another excellent post. And yes, Bette is absolutely adorable

Depends on what you’re looking for.

Who, in the world, would be telling your father-in-law to take out a home equity loan to finance a car???

Yeah, Bette is definitely very cute and adorable!

Well...the first car that I ever “touched” that was a manual was my buddy’s ‘97 Golf TDI (5 door). Spent a couple of minutes in it in the parking lot of a shopping plaza.

Don’t worry. That’ll buff out. ;)

...also interestingly, we actually don’t really have a good way of measuring load as you’re normally driving down the road.

You assume that people can and like to do math. Even with a calculator (or a glorified calculator like Excel or even more advanced tools like MATLAB) - fuel economy is still something that’s hard to do.

...and yes, jaundice can be potential life threatening (as are many things), but it’s quite common (something like 60% of babies have it), they kinda don’t really know WHY it’s so common, but it’s okay. (It’s rare for it to go untreated nowadays.)

We’ve got Peg Perego car seat and stroller. (Primo Viaggio) It’s more expensive, but we’ve found that it’s a LOT easier to use and positions the child properly.

I work at one of the Detroit OEMs and I can tell you as someone who’s dad to a 8-month-old boy, now - all I can think about when I am engineering cars (or looking at them) is “will this fit the stroller and the rest of the stuff that comes along with the baby?” (diaper bagS (plural), toys, change of clothes (also

The top picture looks like it’s the toll plaza between NY and MA, by the Berkshires...
