Absolutely. Crysis is a must xD... and Crysis 2 for good measure, especially with the high res texture pack and DX11 patches.

This is why I always demo all the books at the library before I buy them. Much better to wait a bit than buy a bug-riddled mess.

Not if it is essentially the same thing, but more adequately executed. It's entirely possible that this is the case, especially when it comes to clones of flash games for instance.

"If the public just knew which games were clones and which games were originals, they would naturally lean towards purchasing the original."

Interestingly, I've been seeing games sold at a local supermarket around here, which is definitely new. Bunch of DS and Wii titles, and the obligatory Call of Duty.

Looks to be some kind of glitch where the scale of each bone transform has been dramatically increased, but everything else hasn't. You can see the animations are still playing at the right size, and the bones are in the right spot... just that every mesh is enormous xD

Pretty sure there was a story about blood clots and marathon console playing on the couch. In general, sitting for 6-12 hours at a time is just a bad idea. I get up at least once an hour, and move about a bit.

I've been using a set like this for a while now. Like others say, it comes down to the wiring in your house.

I wonder though. The way I've always seen it is that when you sell a used copy of a game, you transfer that exclusive use license to the person you sell it to. Once sold, you cannot use it any longer (as it would be for any physical product). Of course, the additional prohibition to copy the software comes into play

Bravo. I like being contradicted in style.

Perhaps, but still... there's people giving standing ovations, massive use of sarcasm, and a lot of apparent overreaction going on. I think a very status-quo article would not have the same reaction.

Hardware and software are not the same ballpark though. You have a right to do whatever you want with hardware, because you then void your warranty, and the company no longer has to aid you if shit hits the fan.

The love/hate this causes in the comments is reason enough it deserves a speak up position. I personally don't really like online passes, but have never taken a very good look at the economics of it.

The layoffs are often enough due to an archaic developer/publisher model.

Exactly. It forces them to stay one step ahead of their competition, which they should be since the competition is copying from them. If they're not, that just means they've been stagnant for too long.

I don't care if it is a stolen product. I'm not going to defend outright stealing designs, but would you really have it any other way?

I remember trying to play a Thief game a couple of years back. Harder than you'd think, when you're used to contemporary game & visual design. Some things just seem odd, and of course there's the problem that what was an obvious trap-door back then, is now just a brown smudge on the wall. I remember being stuck on

If you're not first, you have to make sure you're better. If you're better, people will call you out for being a copy cat, but applaud you for making a better game and will still massively play your title. If you copy and make it worse, you will be crucified.

Me nephew would always think stuff I gave him was his after a few months. Very annoying.

As long as a Not Yet is properly introduced when it is turned into a Yes, I like that. I often hold off on games, and tend to forget about them. Getting a reminder here would be nice.
