Thank you Bob, once again proving my belief in why you are, indeed, the man.

On this subject we agree.

If the market normalizes and I can get a reasonably priced FoST (or 2019 FiST with relatively low miles) then I might consider used vehicles in a year or two when I need to start thinking about the reliability / cost to maintain as primary factors for my vehicle (the FiST is mine, the Si is

It’s almost like everyone missed the part where I talked about where I didn’t buy these cars for straight line speed but instead for handling and control.

Touche. As the owner of a 2022 Si I feel this in my bones.

Your Focus is faster than my Fiesta too. After test driving many FoST’s (new, used, with different packages, recaros, not, etc), I bought a FiST with Recaros because 1. it just felt comfortable, 2. it outhandled anything I had driven that was made in this century, and 3. it was quick enough.

But then you have to own a VW.

So, along these lines we have two vehicles. I have a 2014 FiST and this year my wife sold her 2018 Regal TourX and bought a 2022 Civic Si. So I have some relatively informed positions on this subject as they relate to your position.

The engine in the Si definitely puts out more than 200 HP. It’s probably closer to

Resurrecting a dead thread, but for the record we sold the TourX and bought a 2022 Civic Si. So now we have a 2022 Si and a 2014 FiST. #savethemanuals

I’m so rarely here any more that what I want Jalopnik to be should not be your first, second, or even third priority.

Dropping off kids at school in a coupe is a lot harder than when they have their own door. It’s a small thing, but lots of things are easier as a parent with 4 doors. That shouldn’t be a death knell for my car buying options.

Which makes sense, seeing as how the platform has multiple “sport” engines and at least a couple of manual transmission options. I’m expecting that at a minimum the Type-S will have a manual option. And I won’t be shocked if the base model has it as an option as well. But I won’t be too surprised if it doesn’t.

That’s fine, then I’m back to waiting for details on the next gen Si. But I can always hold out hope. Or hope that a Tupe-S model does just borrow the CTR drivetrain wholesale.

This makes me much more excited for it. I’ll be honest, if it comes with a manual, this might be the replacement for my FiST. I was worried it would just be a coupe I’d have to keep looking elsewhere.

As a current FiST owner (my second car is a Regal TourX), I am actually waiting to see what the Civic Si and Acura Integra announcements are going to be. I’ve owned some VW products, and honestly, just too damned quirky and hard to wrench on for me. I’ve only got one kid left at home, and she’s 10, so I don’t need a

I was getting worried that the greatest Torch article was not going to make the list, but Raph saved the day. The stealing the Space Shuttle article is probably the best article to ever be featured on Jalopnik.

There will be So. Many. Dead. Links. It’s a shame.

Oppo has been a wonderful community. I’m happy to have been a part of it, to have helped in some small ways to shape it, and am extremely fortunate to have made many good friends through it.

I can *hear* this gif. LOL.

The Monday after this album came out I described it to my friends as:

Having been at this airport a couple of dozen times, I’ve been at this exact location after a fire alarm forced an evacuation of the entire terminal. That was fun. However, mkbruin is correct, this is the departure (upper) level.
