Nor was the Apprentice Adept series, which was my introduction to him.

I'm of the opinion that American Gladiators totally holds up.  I used to watch reruns of it when I was in college on Spike.

Having grown up in the Boston area, I was always kind of annoyed that it had Boston in the title but didn't seem to really have anything to do with Boston whatsoever.

When I was a youngin', Jars of Clay was playing a free show at an amusement park I was at.  I discovered that at the top of the arc of the Pirate Ship ride, I was able to nail the guitarist with a plastic water bottle.  I felt like such a little rebel.

My parents can do that with Star Trek: TOS, which is embarrassing in an entirely different way.

I always thought Step By Step was a Full House ripoff.  With better looking women.  (Well, Lori Laughlin beats Suzanne Summers imo, but I was young enough at the time that I considered both of them to be way old)

Probably.  Didn't they do a Hawaii episode or two?  Would've been pre-boob job, too.

I can't actually remember being pulled out of the theater screaming, but one I can remember being oddly freaked out by was…Darkman, of all things.  For some reason the lab scene at the beginning spooked me.  I went back and rewatched that recently and don't really get it.  I would've been 10 when the movie came out,

I'm kinda guessing personally.  But I'm pretty sure my first was Return of the Jedi.  I would've been damn young, though, so either it was in the theater forever or I saw it second-run in a discount theater.  (This would've been too early for immediate VHS release, probably.)

I'd probably go with The Running Man…but it's still bad-ass.

I could probably figure out what show this applies to by reading the full article above, but I'm just going to choose to interpret it as a nonsensical dadaist rant and be much happier.

Can we throw in a little Fight Club?  I basically consider it an adaptation of Valis.

Having gone to a school with a big frat scene (University of Colorado), it's not hard to see how they're still popular.  I would disagree that they're particularly middle-class, though, at least in my experience.  They seem to attract more privileged kids with rich parents.  And privileged kids with rich parents tend
