Kimbrel bailed out yet again. He’s this generation’s Trevor Hoffman: picturesque stats, tons of meaningless, chipshot saves, and shrivels in the big moments.

Plenty of people who don’t go to Alabama have school pride and want to support their programs. So that’s why Maryland football, as well as Rutgers Football, or even any non-power 5 football school has boosters. What a silly, arrogant question. How dare someone support their alma mater?

It’s because football. That’s all. I’ll never understand the cult-like obsession with NCAA football. It’s an inferior product to the pro game and the pro game is hot, hot garbage. People just love this sport, even though its a shell of itself at this point and we should all just embrace the flag football of the future.

Meh. I don’t have a problem with either of these. He isn’t sliding hard and late. He makes contact with the bag (with his foot) on both. I could do without the reaching out and grabbing Arcia’s leg, but of all the sliding transgressions a runner could commit, that’s pretty light.

This will last +/- 2 weeks until all the rich, old, white men complain to Trump about how this costs them money.

Agreed. I don’t think Hernandez’s awful umpiring factored into the decision and I think he was equally terrible for both pitchers, but he was terrible as per usual.

I’m not a guy who blames managers. I think they get too much credit when times are good and too much blame when times are bad. I think it’s all about talent, depth and execution, none of which are controlled by the manager. A great manager may only add 2 to 3 wins per year, and a bad manager may only add a handful of

That, and it helped people ignore how unmercifully awful Chris Martin is.

The Rockies’ raw offensive numbers are empty. Anyone can hit in Coors Field. On the road, they hit .225/.295/.370 as a team. Every team takes advantage of home cooking, but that slash line would rate last/last/28th in all of baseball, and is much closer to what they really are as an offensive unit than their combined

It’s because Game 163s are rare, they don’t want the playoffs carrying into November, and they want to incentive winning the division by putting the wild card teams through hell. I like it.

I know!  It’s so easy to just call another 5-star hotel and book 30 or more rooms on a moments’ notice!

They didn’t book the hotel. They’re just arriving where they were told their room was booked. They have to suddenly- and without any prior knowledge or understanding of the situation- go find their own accommodations in order to show solidarity with a union when they don’t even know the details of the strike?

Uh... “rich, powerful people” didn’t book the hotel.

You’re failing to recognize the volume of people here. You’re right if you’re referring to one room, or even a handful of rooms. This is probably upwards of 30 rooms. The team can’t just rebook that on a moments’ notice, and the players shouldn’t be expected to find their own accommodations.

What is this? I know it’s fun to hate on the big, bad Yankees (even though their payroll is significantly lower than the Red Sox and their roster is more homegrown), but seriously, what is this?

Holy crap, Jason Clarke looks perfect in this role. That said, while I love me some Lithgow, I’m not quite sure he can channel Fred Gwynne, who was the highlight of the first film.  Whenever I’ve re-read the book, I read the whole book with his voice in my head.

This I agree with. I don’t think they have Tony survive the stabbing by Thanos just to kill him in the next film. I think if they were going to kill him, that would have been it. I think he goes into retirement and starts the family he was alluding to in the early scenes with Pepper. That way, Downey can still make

Only 20 years after the death of the sport.  Well done.

Do you not have Google?

He’s right about that part. He’s wrong about the rest, and he doesn’t have the gravitas to be lobbing these bombs in the first place.  He can brush off the comments and even talk about Chase being the colossal dick he is, but he he’s nobody.  His biggest accomplishment is his baffling engagement to someone way out of
