Maybe a totaled BMW and a blown WRX engine/trans?

This is a little bit beyond the pale (see what I did there?). Sounds like they kind of painted themselves into a creative corner with the brewery name there. From square one.

BLDs are better than nothing, but way, way worse than proper lockers.

Ooof. Personal opinion here, but those traction control systems that work just by having the brakes stab away at one end of on an open-diff suuuuuuuuuuck. My base model ‘16 Tacoma had that system, and it made the car actively worse at getting out of the snow when it was parked. You had to do a whole manual override to

I probably wouldn’t hesitate to get one over the CTR or GTI...

correction: MR2

I completely disagree. Classic Mustangs were available with a straight 6 so it is a prefect and fitting swap. I think that constant gnashing of teeth and hate over the RB swap is plain silly

I’ll still never forgive them for putting an RB26 in a classic mustang.

My favourite F&F is Tokyo Drift and I’ve maintained that line since its release.

It’s weird to see people start to say this because NOBODY liked it when it came out. I agree though Tokyo Drift is the best FF, and I honestly think it’s just a good movie in general. A Tokyo Drift sequel would be a good ‘return to roots’ for the FF franchise if they ever went that route.

The only decent F&F is Tokyo Drift. And even that’s being generous.

Exactly! Super car vs muscle car. I love them both, and both are impressive

And that’s why the F1 is valued at 20+ MILLION dollars, and the GT500 will be like $80k. I’m not sure how much the F1 was when it was new, but I’m sure it’s over 1 million in today’s money - getting million dollar car performance from a relatively affordable mustang is pretty cool!

And one was a hyper car the other is a suped up pony car.

I think it’s a pretty cool and telling metric. Maybe it’s just me, but when you take into account that it’s being done sharing a base platform with models that retail for under $30k it’s impressive (before you respond, I obviously recognize that there are huge differences between a GT500 and it’s 4 cylinder

I want to see a test thats 60mph-____ in 3 seconds. As in, 3 seconds of wide open throttle, what speed will you be traveling.

0-100-0 is a better metric to use than 0-60 or even 1/4 mile. It is 2 (TWO) metrics in one!

0 - 100 - 0 is a way better test than 0-60. No reason to hate on it just because it’s not common....if only more people cared about braking as much as they do accelerating.

Many modern turbochargers operate at pressure ratios very close to 1:1, unlike older units that operated at 2:1 or even 3:1 (3x the exhaust pressure as intake pressure). At 1:1 ratios, the engine doesn’t have to “work” to push the exhaust out any harder than a n/a engine because the boost pressure is “pushing” it out

The turbo power’s not free, definitely, but it comes from a mix of heat/momentum in the exhaust and pressure from the piston. So, some portion of it is basically scavenging leftover/wasted energy out of the exhaust. How much depends a lot on the details, but I think on the order of 30-75% of the turbo’s energy is
