I think many Jez commenters had the same experience, but I received more vitriolic responses when commenting on Cosby than on anything before or since. I can very easily see one of these steadfast Cosby defenders deadlocking a jury.

It really does remind me of every other disruption. Lots of people applying the last decade’s mindset to the new idea and predicting it will never take off, usually because “People will never do without X” or “No one wants to Y,” meanwhile, the younger generation isn’t even listening, they’re too busy doing the new…
Totally...and if you are on the list for pre-orders is up to Porsche. So everybody is exercising their rights here.
Was that an early BMW?
They aren’t even interfering with him selling the car. They are just saying if he wants to continue the “special relationship” with Porsche that allows him to get high demand vehicles, then don’t flip them. Maybe Porsche should just move to a lease-only model so they have to be with the original buyer for 2-3 years…
I love North Americans’ sense of “olden days” and old buildings.
(cut to quick video clip of a handlebar-mustached man sitting on a dashboard cranking the handle of a movie camera...)
Pre order systems set up for fans of the brand, is not a system set up for flippers to make money with no effort.
They closed Paul’s Boutique!!!!
Yep. Porsche deals with enough nonsense as it is with people buying Porsches in the US (one of the lowest price markets) and exporting them. It’s become standard practice in many of their dealers now to require buyers to sign an agreement which grants Porsche right of first sale if the buyer attempts to sell it to…
If it becomes clear to Porsche that you are only using your access to their preorder system to arbitrage limited edition models into immediate profit with no interest in ownership, it makes perfect sense to not extend the invitation again. And to give the guy a chance to avoid being banned by clawing back the sale is…
Police are looking into it.
Mother Teresa was a fucking shitty human being all around, if we’re going to be honest here.
They’re all hopped up on bathtub gin from the speakeasy.
Heard a story recently of a 918 owner selling his car quite soon after he got it being told not so nicely that if he did not get the car back he would not get access to any preorders again.
Holding a customer’s car hostage for payment is wrong. Just as it’s good for corporations to have a little fear of governement regulation, it’s good for dealerships to have a little fear of having their schemes exposed. Don’t deny that dealerships don’t pull crap like this all over the country.
So in your little customer service world, someone telling you to wipe the smile of your face warrants you responding by telling them you will kick their ass and knocking them to the ground regardless of whether they are elderly or even a child? Good luck with that.
This many problems in such a short time span hints at a failed corporate culture.
So is the problem that the dealer did a bunch of wrong, maybe illegal things? Or is the problem that the internet told people about the wrong, illegal things someone else did.
Yeah, don’t blame the media for reporting on a story. “This man never would have shot up the mall if you hadn’t reported that the mall’s hours had changed from 7-10 to 8-9!”
