As someone who gave living in West Virginia a try (I’m originally from California, lived in WV for about two years, then moved back to CA) there were some good points to this article, but I think you really underplay the role of racism/sexism in Donald Trump’s election there. When I was living in WV, I routinely heard

It bears repeating...

Increasing transfer of wealth from the middle class to the wealthiest, combined with stagnant wages, has squeezed consumers to the point where raw affordability becomes the overwhelming concern in purchases, WASN’T wrong??? Who could have seen that coming???

I have it on good word from someone who works in fashion that the Trump administration has commissioned Hugo Boss to design new uniforms for the police and all airline personnel. The theme is brown shirts, offset with some sort of shiny boot. They also incorporate a striking armband.

Why does that black man have no respect for authority? This is what happens when kids grow up hearing rap songs saying F the police, F this, F that. They internalize it and take it out on the police and put us all in danger. It’s an entitlement culture.

I just had to read an article for a class that ended with a list of actions requested by the Anne Frank Center for Mutual Respect. After I read the list my reaction was “This administration will do none of these things.” (Except maybe the firing Steve Bannon part, cause one by one the anointed are dropping, but it

These trash asses are affected by flights and shitty airlines, but won’t ever have to worry about racial profiling or being targeted by police. So why bother fixing a problem they’ll never have?

It’s wrong to totally overexpose this facet of Boston life, they’re used to quietly going about their day-to-day business without pop and sports culture making a disproportionate fuss about them.

And Drew’s point is proven.

Only prescription drugs. Since he’s white, those don’t count.

I’ve lived in a lot of cities across the country, and I can definitively say this about Boston: it’s the most segregated city I’ve ever lived in. I think that, generally speaking, the population is ostensibly progressive and inclusive. But physical segregation begets prejudice, and I think that’s at the core of a lot

Does a racist have economic anxiety?

Holy shit, you mean the last FORTY YEARS of people concerning themselves with price instead of manufacturing origin increasing transfer of wealth from the middle class to the wealthiest, combined with stagnant wages, has squeezed consumers to the point where raw affordability becomes the overwhelming concern in

I know I should be over this by now, but it amazes me how so many people in the education field are so jaw-droppingly stupid. (That’s not a blanket indictment of the entire field.)

Can we find a way to take the money directly out of the pockets of the rich assholes responsible? That way, we actually punish them, and local taxpayers won’t gripe about the staggering $1.43 that this will cost them individually.

I also think burnouts are kinda stupid. Just sayin’ :T

Let’s be honest: those goofy scratch off tickets and fake keys that are mainstays of traveling circus shitshows like OnPoint and Redline are sleazy and are very effective at producing streams of irritated people that believe that they actually won something, all in the hopes that 0.5% of them will turn out to be
