So...essentially a scaled-up Chevy Volt?

The problem is people are looking at appearance, and thinking that those massive wheels MUST perform better, because they look better, and cost more.

I had the impression that David E. Davis believed the world was crying out for a certain level of sophistication that he was the sole arbiter in determining, so he left Car and Driver to begin Automobile.

You reminded me of something I read years ago about a concours event...

Am I the only person that finds it mildly ironic that while metric fasteners have become more or less the standard, socket drives are still in 1/4, 3/8, and 3/4?

I’d make the argument that the entire front styling of those were an afterthought.

I’ve had the theory that the “hockey stick” shape lends itself to allowing extra support in two directions for the “bumper”, making it slightly more difficult in minor collisions to pop off of the body, and lending additional support to prevent the warping of the cover where it mates with the sheet metal.

I had a younger friend who had one...the only thing that gave him an issue was the day he had to replace the points, and had no clue. He spent two days trying to get it running again, before he finally gave up and called me, because he realized I’d been driving ancient cars for decades.

The really sad thing is this makes more sense as a “truck” than what Tesla showed last night....and neither makes much sense.

I can’t help but think of the line from “Brother, Where Art Thou”...

And every UAW member should be provided with a quarterly report on where the union spent their hard earned money.

I wholeheartedly agree.  I brought my wife out to LA last year, and we drove the PCH from LA to San Francisco, and loved it all.

The side of the road was a real possibility.  The ignition modules in those had the lifespan of a mayfly....the one I had, to order the proper replacement, you had to provide the MONTH the car was built in.

Well, they listed for about $3200.00 new....the hatch looks better than the standard car, and this one, with a vinyl roof, was the least attractive offering.

It also directed air downward across the rear window to help keep it clear in the rain...quite a few GM wagons, including the FWD Century wagon I owned had one.
