The problem is panic...sudden closing of the throttle, and overly aggressive correction. A gentle reduction of throttle, and appropriate counter steer would save a bunch of these from happening....

Making it optional would be irresponsible...perhaps required driving lessons?

You must have missed the spectacular exit a Dodge Viper made in my town a couple of years ago...as a result, they don’t allow Cars and Coffee at that location any more..

I had a ‘64 Galaxie 500XL, Pagoda Green, with a black interior. Bought it from the original owner in 1982, with 30,000 miles on the clock. Had a 289, and Cruise-O-Matic 3-speed automatic.  Made a few performance mods, and it was surprisingly quick for such a large car with a small V8.  Daily driven for nearly 18

This brings up a larger point. While many of us older people look back with fondness on the performance vehicles of the ‘60’s, the true golden age of performance is RIGHT NOW. You can walk into a showroom, and buy a 400-500-600-700 horsepower vehicle, with a factory warranty, and drive it on the street. Those were

I appreciate the suggestion...I never knew they made handheld models...and it does make sense to have something I can move to her.  Thank you for the help!

Serious question...my wife is suffering from Alzheimer’s disease, and we’re having real issues getting her clean.

It really depends on the car, and the likely buyer...in other words, your market.

I’m aware of how security cameras work...I don’t generally think of an automobile as doubling as a security camera.

I just hadn’t considered an automobile to be a mobile security camera...

“which begins 10 minutes prior to the time a threat was detected”

Dedicated smokers preferred keeping their Zippo lighter in their shirt pocket, along with their pack of smokes, and didn’t bother with the dash lighter.

You’ll eventually get used to it....I daily drove a ‘64 Galaxie500XL for nearly 18 years, and 250,000 miles with manual steering.

One neat trick you could do with those old cars that had generators was you could push start them even without a battery, or a completely dead battery in the car.

Absolutely...it was literally possible to run the battery dead while the car was running under the right circumstances...say long periods of idling, especially if the lights and other electrical accessories were running full blast...

It should rightly be better..Even .assuming you loaded up on options, the C8 is still $400,000 cheaper.

The short answer is GM has been shedding itself of other markets, (the sale of Opel being one example), Ford has more or less ceded the ENTIRE passenger car market to competitors in favor of making trucks and SUV’s, and FCA has been more or less begging to merge with almost anyone who might be even slightly

The American automobile manufacturers have been in a death spiral for the past three decades or longer.  While the UAW fights for what pieces they can, it seems to me the smart thing would be to begin planning for what happens once GM, Ford, and FCA stop circling the drain, and no longer exist, at least in their

I saw one a number of years ago with an aluminum Buick 215.  The owner said that it weighed close to what the original 4-cylinder weighed, so balance wasn’t really affected, but the performance was mind bending.

Elections would serve as excellent term limits...unfortunately, most voters barely know the NAME of the representative, let alone any idea of what they’ve been doing...
