...especially a sequel to a mediocre movie that was the only decent part of a crappy cinematic universe.

Don't pin your Christmas happiness on a tentpole franchise sequel.

That William Buecker tweet is right. It should be flushed down the toilet on the first day. Sadly, this is gov’t we’re talking about here so its probably here to stay in some form or fashion

Never believe in the concept of grownups. Pop culture mimicry has been largely documented in sociology, be it among mafia thugs mimicking gangster movies, or cops mimicking action heroes, in behavior, language, body attitude, etc. They’re children offered a career in play pretend. They’re conforming to an idea of how

It definitely appears so. I am not sure you were the first to admit it, though.

“Ock, noo! An aister-oid! Domn it! Git me to a telefoon! I hafta coll mah pahrints in Kleeveland, where I am froom!” ~ John Garrity (Gerard Butler), Greenlant

I believe it is available to stream on Disney Plus.

“Your Honor, Mr. Tomkins here addressed his 9th grade English class without remembering to request their preferred pronouns first.”

“I believe that the ancients knew how to travel between both worlds. I believe that is the purpose of the Sky Tower.”

I was thrown by that entry as well. It’s a TV movie. Those have been a thing for forever. I don’t recall TV movies being eligible in the past, but maybe I’m wrong.

I understand putting Small Axe here. But Bad Education? Really? Just because it got bought by HBO? Come on. That’s the sort of thing I know is complete trolling, but it still gets me.

The supposed “film vs tv show” debate does not really interest me, but pretending Bad Education was a TV show is just being deliberately obtuse.

I would love to read a real indepth book about the decision making involved in the entire Disney Star Wars trilogy.

Bingo.

I would love to hear some true tales from the production of that train wreck, and the somewhat-salvaged Solo. I hate that Disney keeps such a tight lid on their Star Wars troubles instead if owning them.

That’s a totally contemporary way to look at it. This character exists in 1870, not 2020. Someone five years out from the war would not be lashing themselves for upholding white supremacy because he wouldn’t see that as a bad thing. I’m not even sure a Confederate soldier would see themselves as a “traitor” either.

“when I see him all I can see is a poor rich white boy”

Something tells me you really needn’t have seen any previously installments to fully appreciate Godzilla & King Kong bashing each others brains in

As you may have seen, I have given it much too much thought, and this is an occupational hazard I want to be very clear you should not adopt for no reason.

Maybe the real twist was the friends we made along the way.
