You had a different president when Black Panther came out in 2018? :)

Clicked on this article assuming it was talking about books written about black historical figures by white authors, and thinking that might be a tricky case to debate. Woof, was I wrong... pretty sure Emma is the whitest book ever written.

Decrying a very particular expansion of a single adjective’s common usage in no way implies opposing linguistic innovation in general, and to pretend otherwise is both foolish and cowardly.

Could we please not go with this “hip” use of the word “thirsty”? Enough aspects of our civilization are being debased all around us without adding this nauseous corruption of the English language to the list of offenses. Thank you kindly.

For those who thought Season 3 of GLOW still contained too much wrestling?

I mean, to not even offer arm movement, when the prospective joint is covered by fabric and wouldn’t even have to look good, is pretty weird.

True!

I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again: “mysterious assassin” isn’t nearly as interesting a job/way of life as genre fiction likes to think.

The Mist, b&w version of course, hands down.

“But [Leia] alone didn’t fall short.” Well, except for that one time when her only child was lured to the Dark Side right under her nose. And that time she failed to notice the nu-Empire had built a planet-sized, stationary Death Star until after it nuked five whole planets. And that time she let the last living Jedi,
