unfortunately, the numbers you reference between plasmas and LCDs aren't comparable as they are different technologies. Manufacturers often use those numbers to try to mislead customers.

they're both great. I'd simply get whichever one offers the best deal at the time. LCDs are getting very price competitive with plasmas in those larger sizes.
