Agreed. I know it is difficult on new car models that are just available for testing, but some type of measure of likely or real prices would be welcome. Add a 20% mark-up and you are indeed in 911 territory.

After trying an X1 for the weekend, I can’t imagine who would put up with such a vehicle with even just one kid to haul around. I couldn’t. With a horribly thick C pillar, it is a dark hole back there.

It should be interesting to see how much this event will cost taxpayers. Years from now, when all the claims have wound their way through the courts, it may well be in tens of millions. I can’t imagine what car theft would be worth endangering the lives of so many people, let alone a 5-year-old.

Perhaps. Though sometimes 2+2 <4; meaning that despite the sum of its parts, it is not worth it! All the parts would have to be carefully removed, and they are still used.  Think of the “discount” as that inherent cost.

Some of the nicest cars and trucks in my neighborhood are belong to renters. Though it makes me wonder where their priorities lie, I can understand the other side of the argument. I mean if you can’t afford a house is today’s market, why not spend the extra on you ride and enjoy it.

Only $0.60 here in SoCal. Not so bad considering it is taxed more than gas and you go 1/3 further.

Ok, so they ditched the prior transmission’s “acoustics package”. But, why would a manual gearbox need the complication of an accoustics package in the first place?

This is just part of the bi-polar aspect of California. Consider that for years we were encouraged to get solar.
