While the US was not great tonight, Haiti’s speedy counterattacks and ability to easily find open spaces was pretty impressive. They really surprised me (and, apparently, the US as well…) with how well they played in general. We were a bit lucky to escape with the 3 points.

Woahwoahwoahwoah… Fart jokes are VERY funny, in the right context. And it’s almost always the right context.

They were fizzing along well for the first 15 minutes or so, much more lively and attack minded. They could’ve been up 2-0 if not for some good saves and Abby’s offside. But then the same slow footed, slow minded play crept in. The USWNT desperately needs an infusion of speed and guile.

Solo’s the only reason the US won the group (well, her and Rapinoe). Their play has mostly been uninspired and dull to watch (the second half vs Nigeria being the exception IMO).
