The main cast was no slouch either, chock full of knowns and unknown who went on to become knowns. So...yeah, I think on the whole Hanks and the team knew what they were doing with casting.

I think Hanks saw his dead eyes and thought he would’ve been better used in Polar Express...
I really don’t like Deadshot’s face-exposed look. I always liked that his hood/mask made him look like a badass, then when he takes it off he has this terrible dandy of a mustache.
There are few things that have put me more at ease (after the initial anger/disappointment/recriminations wear off) than getting that first sizable ding on a car. After that, I can pretty much stop worrying about it, and I can park as close to other cars as I want because what’s one more ding?
For the past two weeks, I keep trying to watch Joker, and I’ve only made it five minutes in. It just feels like a slog and I just don’t feel like I’m in the mood to sit down for two hours and let myself be engulfed in that.
My family recorded the original Star Wars when it first ran on network TV, in the mid 80s, and it was a huge deal, and they had a short video section showing all these superfans, entire extended families standing in a room shouting in unison that they’d seen Star Wars like 87 times or something (which was pretty big…
I thought so too, but I just watched Gemini Man, and it took me four days to get through it. Her charms go only so far.
I mean, Canary at least had the canary cry there, and Huntress has the crossbow/bad attitude/motorcycle/croptop. This Cassandra Cain looks like she just wants to go to the mall for a Cinnabon.
How did you get out of the grays? TELL ME. I started life on the AV Club born out of the grays and for some reason i’ve been cast down into the grays with the sodomites...
I mean, I’ve read quite a few comics and I wanna know why Cassandra Cain is now a less-than-athletic looking asian teen out of a Kevin Smith movie. Granted I stopped reading comics a few years back but I thought Cassandra was a master assassin/batgirl?
It just never ceases to amaze me how much complaining people love to do about Star Wars. Or just the amount of thought they want to put into it about their feelings and how they feel about their feelings while watching the movies over and over and over. There are things I love and hate about every star wars movie. If…
I was just pleasantly surprised the other day whenI went to a gas station, dipped my card, and I didn’t have to enter my ZIP code. Are they phasing that out with the chip readers? Now that I think about it, I didn’t dip the card and immediately swipe it out, had to keep it in there for a few seconds. Maybe that…
Yea, I just recently noticed the TV app does this, and for free. I’d rather save the 400 bucks and just use Google or YouTube search for specific scenes I want to see.
After ignoring it for, well, forever, i recently discovered that the built-in TV app on myApple TV does basically that. Just lists popular shows from across different networks and streaming services. You search it, and the show pops up and plays (depending on your subscription to that particular service, of course...)
Liam Livingstone? More like Liam DEADSTONES AMIRIGHT!?
Isn’t this basically what Netflix does?
Did you suspect from the pilot that Judd and his wife were Klan/Seventh Kavalry? I kind of went back and forth. Seems so obvious at times that I figured it had to be a red herring, so when it finally turned out to be the case I was still a little bit surprised. So I personally thought they got the resolution they…
I remember watching the pilot for Justified, kind of relieved whenI thought Boyd was dead, because he was just so goddam menacing that I didn’t want to feel that stress every week during a show I already knew I would watch every single week. Obviously can’t imagine the show without him now, but at the time i was…
I would just assume that some liberties were taken with the exact legal procedures (kind of, ugh, like real life) to get this Party down to Five as quickly as possible. They did have a pilot to sell, after all, and I assume getting bogged down in the procedures would just shed viewers...
Yeah, I don’t get his take on that scene. Out of all the problems one might have with this movie, I thought that scene was the least of its problems, and I thought it added some much-needed backstory into Leia’s Force training.
