I work on EMALS. (I think that makes me Albert Einstein!) For some reason, all the project managers are Trump supporters. It’s fun to watch their reactions when the President personally threatens to cancel their project.

A.P. Bio was a great show, but I don’t know how long it could last. It’s already a stretch that the second season takes place during the same school year. (And that Jack only teaches one class, but they specifically mentioned that in an episode; he didn’t realize that other teachers have more than one.) Eventually

What, you don’t think a real-life waitress would call a Professor at the School of Public Health to get the facts on cookout safety?

The tradition is to put the giant steamer pot on the grill. That wouldn’t leave room for hamburgers or hot dogs, unless this cookout had multiple grills.

I’m not a fan of the expanded role of lactose in brewing.

I’d drink that, actually.

I’m Bill McNeal on crack. I like boys.

Nandor’s stirring defense of the right to bare arms nearly brought me to tears.

I refuse to watch any show where a main character uses an irritating fake voice. Johnny Galecki is capable of talking like a normal person, but he’s spent over a decade using this nasal whine because that’s how nerds talk.

I liked Sah’Tea, but it wasn’t a German weizen. It was a variant on sahti, a Finnish beer style that’s flavored with juniper.

HOT DAMN!

Cancer. He’s raising money for medical treatment.

Does anyone have a link to the Idiotking GoFundMe? Or a working link to the AV Club post that announced it? The post only seems to work for a short time before disappearing. I even contacted the site’s management about it; they restored the post, then today it’s gone again.

So you eat fresh tomatoes when they’re in season locally, and you don’t eat fresh tomatoes the rest of the year. It’s not much of a sacrifice, because it’s so easy to buy canned tomatoes, and out-of-season tomatoes taste terrible.

There’s no reason to need a standard definition of “local”. It’s a spectrum. Food from California isn’t local to me, but it’s more local than food from Argentina or Australia would be. Food from 250 miles away is sort of local, but not as much as food from 25 miles away. I don’t care where the grocery store draws the

I’ve grilled whole fish a couple of times. It was a lot easier than described in the article, since I used a fish basket. That probably wasn’t great for presentation, as the fish got a little squished and the scales stuck to the basket in places, but it wasn’t too difficult. And the results were delicious.

excluding amber lagers or beers with roasted malts

Ham and mayo on white bread, eaten out of a baggie, is not appropriate in a rideshare. It’s also not appropriate under any other circumstances.

I’d rather meet Teve Torbes. That guy sounds awesome.
