That Trading Places reference came out of nowhere!
He didn't move the train; he derailed it. Then ate it piece by piece.
Gazebo?
More like gazoinksbo!
Little-known fact: Choo Choo the Herky-Jerky Dancer was an undercover cop.
Action Hank: "Watching Grunge leg-drop New Jack through a press table" is a reference to the indie wrestling fed ECW. Grunge and New Jack were wrestlers.
brain_slug: That kid from Seinfeld was Todd Bosley. He appeared a couple times on Scrubs in 2009 as Howie, the weird new intern.
Boring
There are too many characters: Two parents, four siblings, 3 significant others, about 6 children. Each group of characters has their own plot, and there are scenes of all the characters together showing how they relate to each other. So there wasn't enough time to flesh out anyone or make any of the plots…
No, she was the landlady's daughter.
Now who will I look at?
Franz was the best part of Hold Steady concerts! He wore a suit, had a funny mustache, and jumped around while playing the keyboard one-handed. And his high backing vocals are my favorite part of live recordings. (I don't remember hearing them during the concerts.)
Lazerguided: It's actually "Are you on email?" Much more awkward, and thus much funnier.
First, no album kicks Born to Run's ass. Born to Run is the best album there is.
Thanks. It was either this or Warren G Farting.
And two performances by Mrs. Potato Dick!
Under Siege? No.
Under Siege 2? That's the one!
Dr. Beardface was in the background of a scene.
I've used elements of Separation Sunday in two RPG scenarios. One used character names, the second had the camp and riverside priest from "Banging Camp". None of the players got it.
Should have ended last year
Scrubs was a really good show for the first few years. Then it was decent, then it was depressingly bad. Then it moved to ABC and became surprisingly good, as it introduced new characters and toned down the silliness.
No. The Lifter Puller songs have their own mythology (http://en.wikipedia.org/wik…. Craig Finn has said that there's no character overlap between the two bands' songs; no Lifter-Puller characters appear in Hold Steady songs either.
Boys and Girls in America
It's the first Hold Steady album I listened to, but I still think it's their worst. Almost all of the band's worst songs (or at least their most boring songs) are on this album. "Separation Sunday" was definitely the right choice.
