I’m surprised I never got into any trouble with the BMW. Doing 90+ on the highway was a calm sedate drive where you wondered why everyone was going so slow and on ramps had the possibility of three digit speeds regularly. I miss that car, but not enough to go out and buy another as a DD.

It isn’t so much that it feels slow for what it is, but I went from a 400HP sedan to a 140HP wagon. I’m getting used to it still.

No doubt. Tire technology is probably more important than anything else when it comes to these times. I find it amusing that it took 35 years for someone to break the 956 record.

Mine mostly comes from owning a BMW 550i that was in the low 4 second range and then going backwards into my DD. I’m at just over a 1/3 HP and a little over 1/2 the torque of the BMW with my VW.

This is literally the only bright spot I’m seeing from this whole story.

I think that’s the more important thing about electric trucks coming, but I doubt that anyone besides VW is taking electric work vehicles seriously. Ford’s first offerings should really be the Transit and Transit Connect (these would be perfect for Amazon’s independent delivery network) with work truck F150s and F250s…

Probably thinks just because it can beat it in the 1/4 mile that it’s better. Vehicle dynamics really don’t seem to enter into the Tesla community too much.

I was wondering about this. How can you have the “Unofficial Tesla Podcast” with the CEO on the show? I’m pretty sure after that happens you just become part of the PR arm of the company. Hopefully Tesla donated heavily to their Patreon.

I remember sitting in a CTS V-Sport at a car show once and thinking “This is pretty nice to be in”. Then I went to the Mercedes booth and that thought never entered my mind again. The one thing the V-Sport did have was seats that were very comfortable for my body type.

I fail to see how this is counterpoint. The only person I knew who owned one got on it too hard and ended up dying in an accident. The Hellcat is way too powerful for the majority of the public.

Between those two choices, I’ll buy a GX460. The RX is probably a better daily, but it’s the epitome of boring. The X3M is probably more fun to drive but tacky. I’ll take the less tacky, somewhat fun (off road at least) GX.

I was going to start laughing about 10 seconds being reasonable, until I realized that my slow as TDI Sportwagen is still in the mid 8 second range for 0-60.

I was thinking along the same lines, but the one I came up with was the Plymouth Acclaim (evidently there is also a Triumph Acclaim) and Acclaim Entertainment.

So the ID.R is now the second fastest car around the Nurburgring. That’s pretty damn impressive.
