The original Trailblazer was actually a very vehicle for what it was. It’s a full frame midsize SUV that competed very favorably with the Explorer, 4Runner and Pathfinder. It came with a very reliable and a reasonably powerful inline-6 and could tow a very respectable 6,500 lbs. The sheer number of surviving vehicles

So, a 2-door Tahoe/Suburban? That’s all they really were in the days of the K5.

I do, but I could care less about them reusing the nameplate for something else.

But I’m an enthusiast and this goes against my preconceived notions of what these vehicles should be. /s

I had no idea that existed. I’m not huge fan of the front but the rest is much better looking.

There are days when I will agree to that sentiment.

But the economy is better than ever and unemployment is at an all time low, so it’s their fault for working in a <insert sector here> for less than a living wage /s

At normal M depreciation rates, 5-10 years.

In the late 80s/early 90s, the real gas workhorse engines for GM were the 350 that got slightly better mileage but worse low end torque than the 300, the 454 that got worse mileage but much more towing.

Either one is pretty typical VW. The engines are generally good. Everything attached to the engine is another story.

V10 TDI would be amazing. A bad idea for all involved but amazing nonetheless.

Free Candy van is the best van.

Ive always been more of a coupe person, so the MGC GT was always the way Id go. Besides that, I always preferred the look of the chrome bumpered MGB/C to pretty much all the other British sports cars (Jag and Aston excluded).

Smog testing isn’t an issue here as it’s grandfathered in, but yes they are gas hogs, as was every truck engine at the time they were made.

Unfortunately most of these trucks were driven to destruction or are being held onto by loving owner. I still want a 300 inline 6 powered Ford, but they seem to be hard to come by locally.

I always preferred the MGC to the MGB, so I’m on board with this idea.

I think the fundamental issue here revolves around the concept of patina. As gearheads, I think most of us understand this sort of wear isn’t considered damage, and is in fact often a highly desirable trait.

When I’m at breweries that is the usual method, but one thing Ive found about craft breweries is that many of them have crap quality control. Occasionally you get a batch of a beer you enjoyed previously and now its not anything like the last time.

Just remember that this all started with Jenny McCarthy deciding that she would rather have a dead child than an autistic child. Millions of parents who go to the beach to tan the blue away have decided that this reasoning is also correct for them.

They do offer the normal Golf Sportwagen, at the moment. It’s even available as AWD if you want. The problem is that none of the performance variants come here.
