I don’t think Marciniak had time to conduct such a detailed analysis as he was trying to score.  Your reasoning is absurd. It might be worth considering other forms of entertainment. You seem confused by the very nature of sports.

The rule is a stupid one. Never before or since has any catcher been hurt like Posey. It’s a rule to prevent that which as already occurred. This was a clean play, even with the absurd Posey Rule.
