Thanks for the reply. Sometimes I get disheartened when I see people responding to people they judge to be ignorant in combative and dismissive ways, but all of your comments are very compelling.

I agree that I may have went a little far calling his argument legitimate, since it wasn’t really an argument. I meant more that it was a legitimate question. I was more getting at the fact that people who aren’t being combative should not be replied to in such a combative, or dismissive way.
