I regularly see a clapped out red one while commuting and the guy drives like a complete arse. I'm always annoyed to see them, sorry
Smart crossblades make my day every day I see one. I rarely do on the road, but I know a dealer who got one in the showroom. Dunno if it’s even for sale.
On nbc they interviewed a guys who said they had debris raining for for minutes.
Here in Germany it's called a heatwave and some car shows and magazines continue to explain year in, year out how to prepare our beloved cars from those nasty temperatures. The only thing I ever to is to cover the windows with cardboard or a blanket when I park the car, so it wouldn't heat up as much.
It's very weird, that neither the rubber tyres nor the plastic fuel filler cap or door handles show any sign of damage. I say rubber tyres, to point out, that that material is really likely to go bad under hot temps, otherwise it's totally clear that those are made of rubber. And they could still be bad, the video…
My driving instructor had the predecessor of this, a 1.9 diesel Renault megane, one time he had to bring it to the shop bits of the intake piping, I think the turbo outlet thing, was melting and blocked some of the piping diameter. So I only could just under 100mph on the Autobahn lessons. So renaults could partl melt.
The roof spoiler and the modern style rear bumper/diffuser thingie kill the looks for me. I like bright colours and understand the polestar idea though.
As most photoshop previews of car mods do, this one looks very odd.
Good summery of the latest YouTube video of jay Leno’s garage.
I’m not entirely sure about that, I worked in a BMW dealerships garage for a bit when I was in school, and one of their trainees tried to explain how to bleed a brake system:”you know why to start bleeding at the rear right hand side of the car? Bcs it would be stupid not to!” That was his knowledge and enthusiasm…
When my dad bought a blue skoda 105 in the late 80s, it was still a much better car then the two stroke rivals. The 720 seems to be really interesting though. Even a bit more then the hatchback thing the eastern German people wanted to replace the Trabant with.
Maybe it's a really long and thin engine.
But it looks sooo sad. Old Skodas always look sad.
I was going to say ford econoline before reading this, but the Chevy just hits it’s perfectly. I don’t know a lot about 60s Vans from the US of A.
Maybe outrun one once, and have no interior at all. I’m not sure about this particular car, but an Alpina e34 should start being a collectible item and one in good condition could go for 15000-20000, 25000 should be the far end for an almost showroom car.
Why don’t we call this by its actual name: “showing off”? In Germany we have quite some diesel A3s with full on S3 kit, not the S package, actual S3 body parts, signs, wheels, mirror covers, you name it, it’s only when they rattle ant ticker away from a stop sign, that you know, that they go for looks over function.…
It's a bit more then the batch and 46hp though.
Alpina doesn't really make sports cars, they make fast luxury cars. Their new cars also don't feature the carbon fibre roofs and stuff the M division has. And for running the Autobahn all day that kind of torque / power ratio isn't too bad. Also the M30 isn't one of the really high Revving engines, they usually shine…
These are so cool, but I still was disappointed when I saw them at the dealer. I expected a much more basic transportation device, that would rival the Dacia Logan and the Duster. But they made a funky interior that’ll need a few options to actually be as cool as it looks.
