No "Redskins" is NOT okay. Change it. Why won't the team change their name? I thought this was supposed to happen a long time ago.

I'd like the team name "Redskins" to go away. Where do I get to vote? Who's in charge of keeping it?

It's not about Asians, but sure as shit, we Asians are going to defend against slurs aimed toward us. I get that it's satire. I get that it's about "Redskins" being racist towards Native Americans.

No, "gooks" is a slur towards all Asians. I know you're not the only one to ask, nor am I the only one to answer, but I just wanted to state it plainly since it seems confusing to many.

Good point. Though nigger gets scare quotes and gook does not (what are scare quotes again?). Many Asian-Americans, no matter what country of ethnicity have been called "gook" as a slur.

I don't mean to only respond to you, but Kinja won't let me just post to the thread (of course). When you're super poor and homeless, many of the people around you are very shady and lie (and are often drug addicts, in and out of prison, and/or mentally ill).

Who alerts the police when someone doesn't answer the phone for a little while? The husband must've suspected something and probably feels guilty letting her go see her parents alone (I can't even imagine the pain he's going he's going through).
