It's not *just* water vapor, but I doubt it's much worse than Mr. Drakkar Noir wafting cologne.

Right. It's not just water vapor, nor just nicotine. I have no idea why many commenters keep saying it's just water vapor.
I guess I willfully forgot that. Maybe I should talk to my therapist about why I'm determined to have Robin die. :) The "Mother" doesn't die, I'm 92% sure.
Also, it's nice to have a dude in this kind of overly sappy (overwhelmingly usually female) role.
Ok, I thought so, but wasn't 100% sure. I vaguely recall imaginary kids in one ep.
Robin's death would be sadder & more plausible.
This is why I think Robin's dead (and she has a daughter?). I've missed a bunch of eps. I think that mother/daughter comment was telling.
I just read/formulated my own sad theory. Robin is dead (and she has a daughter which is why Ted's so sad about the mother daughter wedding comment). The focus of the story has been on Robin so much b/c of that, and Ted and family are intact.
He's had some minimal interaction with them - they groan and he responds etc.
Swarley dying would be the saddest.
Whoa! I love this theory.
That "Up" beginning montage was a serious tearjearker.
You're one of these snapewives I keep hearing about, right?
Way to go making me feel really sad at a HIMYM write-up. I can't see the show being this morbid.
Ted and the kids are dead. Mom's the only one alive.
Me too. :) He's speaking directly to me! (or reading off a teleprompter in my eyeballs)
It was awful. Maybe these lowest common denominator jokes are ok if you're making it up on the fly, but this shit was written down and rehearsed. As if older women don't have to deal with stupid stuff like that every day.
He should've. The shit being posted down in the comments is hilarious (if only Fallon reviewed some of this stuff, he'd really beef up his game).
It's only Gus (Dule Hill), 1/2 of the best bromance ever!
