I agree. Calling "spanking" something else like "swatting" or "lightly hitting to get their attention" does not make it better. Also, children do not get "reset," they remember it all. There's a reason why teachers aren't allowed to "swat" your children in school - everyone has their own line of what they think is ok.

I've struggled with bulimia and other wildly disordered eating as well, and there are far too many triggers or situations to aid one down this path to list here. I agree, the military may attract the kind of person more susceptible to eating disorders (same thing I pointed out in the 50 per day Diet Coke lady article…

Yeah, the payoff is often less than the drawbacks. I'll always enjoy some dirt, but more on the level of what they're doing, not so much what they're saying. Even if they're not asses like this guy, they are usually extremely dull or dorky (as much as I adore JLaw, I'm not really into hearing about her sharts).

Many good actors disappoint me in real life (notable exceptions: Bryan Cranston, Jennifer Lawrence). It's best not to try to get to know them.
