“The point of game localization is not just to translate what is said nor ‘erase’ parts of other cultures, but to make players from all countries react the same way a U.S. player would, which in this case is to make them laugh,” Native Prime project manager Isa Gutiérrez explained under the original tweet.

I kind of wish I was older when I lived abroad because I would have been able to appreciate other countries’ health care systems. Like, I had to work part-time jobs for most of my adult life until fairly recently and I probably wouldn’t be alive if not for ACA and (relatively speaking) generous state Medicare

and the first comment on the tweet is someone finding a way to be offended by this. Blows my mind, every time.

This is something that could be easy to overlook. Certain phrases and idioms, people generally know that doesn’t translate well, but jokes about the basic realities of our living conditions... i could see how

After playing the demo, I felt like an outsider looking in and decided not to buy it. It felt like I was missing a lot of lore behind the series, as I haven’t played a single installment of the resident evil franchise. Is there a resident evil game you’d recommend playing that could help explain everything going on?

I have learned to ask my wife if she wants sympathy or solutions when she’s had a problem arise. Both are valid desires, but I want to make sure I’m providing the correct outcome for her.

You weren't kidding. IGN posted the first 20 minutes of gameplay, and the player couldn't do anything without the narrator jumping in with something. Put that on top of forced tutorial texts every other step, the game goes out of its way to annoy you right off the bat

This game ultimately disappoints (and I am glad I didn’t buy it). The annoying narration is enough for me to probably never play the game. Such a ill-informed decision to make by any game developer.

Woke: Devs, don’t make games about minority identities you can’t personally speak to, as that is appropriation and you’ll likely screw it up.

Most of the developers mentioned in this aren’t american. Resident Evil is developed in Japan, Returnal was developed by a Finnish company. It’s not an american issue, it’s the whole world.

But being non-cis is not the only means of progression.

I really love diversity, but putting myself on the fence, somewhat... Do you think companies need to “force” diversity if they are European? If an African games company made 10 AAA games about various African warriors/heroes and then suddenly made a game with a white protagonist to sell copies/”pander... I dunno. I

I played the first hour or two of TLoU, then bounced, hard. I told myself that I’d go back around to it, maybe when I was in a better headspace or the “right mood”. Eventually, I made the decision that I just didn’t care, and the discourse (both good and bad) around the second game made me confident in that decision.

I have a hard time being upset when kids get kicked out of toxic religious schools because their families aren’t toxic religious people.

and the Lord Jesus spoke: “ye, if thou hast a rockin bod, make yon ducats on the site only for fans, my child! dolla, dolla bills, ye all!

Oh, no! Now her kids will never learn all of those important ethics and principles only the Catholics can teach...

Mary Magdalene would have had an OnlyFans.

Jesus wept. This is awful cooking advice. People want a burger that is juicy and flavourful. Not bland and wet, which is what’s being advocated here. These are hamburgers. Cooking 101. You do not need to “hack” a burger. Buy good ground meat with adequate fat, form the patties, sprinkle with salt and pepper, put ‘em

An ice cube will not make a burger moist. An ice cube will make a burger wet. Wet, and flavourless. You need fat because fat gives you moisture and flavour.

Don’t use lean meat.
