I watched it earlier this week and have been raving about it ever since. It sounds like faint praise to say it’s the most economical horror movie since Blair Witch, but it’s not. It does so much on such a shoestring budget.

I love Warm Bodies. Hoult is amazing in it, and I’ll forever love any movie that has “Hungry Heart” soundtrack it’s romantic montage.
I thought for sure Jeremy Renner was going to be on here, got his start as a makeup artist.
There’s a rumor that arguably the best line was cut due to Newman being unable to keep a straight face while saying it. After Redford has his meltdown when they arrive in Bolivia, Newman was supposed to say “And to think there was nothing here five years ago.”
Came here to say the same thing. I’m fine with not finding characters likable, but there has to be something mitigating that unlikability.
It certainly doesn’t compare to the groundbreaking work of Jan Erik Eckland.
Now if I could only get a good steering wheel that didn’t whiff out of my window while driving.
He should have had an Oscar nomination for Rushmore. He will be missed.
I enjoyed the new version, but agree I wish they had gone further or paced it a little better. It’s telling that the 89 version did more in the same amount of time.
This is one I know I’m in the minority on, but I liked it better than Get Out.
Does anyone else remember the episode of @Midnight Ken Jennings was on? He has a way filthier sense of humor than I would’ve expected.
My history professor called it “the Jesus Chainsaw Massacre.”
What I don’t get is why they’re putting their collective ass on the line for Danny fucking Masterson. Tom Cruise and John Travolta, that’s understandable, but when was the last time Masterson was a draw?
Watching Lost Souls informed me that Richard Stanley is a distant relation of mine. One of the more mind-blowing movie experiences of mine.
My dream movie for Shyamalan would be an adaptation of The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon. Long on the things he’s good at (atmosphere, performances from children), short on dialogue.
I was also high as fuck. Turned out to be the perfect way to watch it. I was “Goblin” this movie up!
This list is a nightmare. Any awards body that manages to ignore both Toni Collette and Joaquin Phoenix (for You Were Never Really Here) has to be blind.
Agreed. I thought some of the historical mistakes were boneheaded (“Seven Seas of Rhye” on the debut does not have vocals), and the first half feels like it’s speed-reading a Wikipedia entry. But strangely, once Queen’s music got worse, the movie got better, cause it turned the focus on Malick and not the other band…
Would have been cool if they did this as a slasher twist on The Stunt Man.
I'm Facebook friends with Rael. His feed is about what you'd expect, with more Russian propaganda thrown in.
