Trying to get rid of these books by banning them from schools is as smart as putting out a grease fire with a cup of water. It clearly tells all the students of the existence of these books and both public libraries and Amazon/AbeBooks/ Books A Million/Thrift Books/Powell’s Books are just a click away.

Since these lists are just blatantly targeting topics/authors based on race and sexual orientation, how are they not being struck down under anti-discrimination laws?  I could understand private schools squeaking by, but public schools and libraries are supposed to have protections against this kind of bullshit.

I can’t even imagine how many things surrounding Black History Month will be cancelled by school boards and principals for fear of triggering fragile white egos. It would not surprise if one school district (most likely in Florida) bans Black History Month altogether.
