Allowing racist, privileged white farmers to hold up money going to PoC farmers when the only thing the honkies need is a slap in the face and duct tape across their mouths is another sticking point.

So true. Grew up in Appalachia, and one side of the family is definitely “hillbillies.” When Republicans complain about cultures of poverty, they never seem to look at the stubborn self-reliance of Appalachia, which keeps them poor, and ashamed of their poverty.

I’d bet the majority of Black neighborhoods in America have some level of this issue. It’s a matter of old infrastructure that never got upgraded, no records of where it actually is, and state/local governments with no interest in spending the money on it because they don’t care about who lives there. Replaced Water

Ugh, they seriously can’t find twenty million to remediate this mess? Michigan probably spent more money fighting the Line 5 oil line and this is poisoning its residents right now.

The left is, “I don’t see color” and right is “I see color and I hate it”, both ways, that is a white person’s problem, that is the problem with the two groups.

Saw this headline, made popcorn, waited for the “justifying”, “your (sic) the real racist” and thewhat about” comments, looked skyward because I knew the point would sail far enough over some heads that it would land on a cloud.

Bam! I wondered how those wigs just happened to be laying around...right next to the nooses maybe?

All the sensitivity training in the world is not going to change a racist mind. It just pisses them off and they double down on their racism.

The most surprising thing to me in this story is that Sinclair did anything.

She just straight-up tried to put him in a box and he was not having it.

And that’s really what it’s all about, isn’t it? The rise in right wing domestic terrorism, the ballooning numbers of Oath Kreepers and Proud Incel Boys. The white rage you see at every Trump rally.

I doubt she was the original anything. People have been saying that same shit for years. Usually more often around an election where actors or athletes are more likely to voice support for candidates or policies and it actually stick in the news.

Denzel Washington has always been an intense guy who doesn’t play nice in interviews.

Yeah if I were Denzel I’d have been pissed by that question too. Her question reads like a polite, journalistic way of asking him why he’s so “uppity” and he totally picked up on it.

Absolutely. She tried to box him in and he was having none of it.

After working with Spike Lee, Washington had to fight like the devil to just frame himself as an actor rather than some trouble making, indie actor.

“Denzel—are you—do you feel—you know some people say Hollywood folks should stick to acting,” Couric asked.

I got the same vibe.

That doll is adorable! I would prefer that to the Bratz type dolls that look like grown women in skimpy attire & lots of make up. I’ve caught enough push back to know that mine is an unpopular opinion. I respect people’s right to do what they choose with their kids but I am Team Zoe all the way!
