I nearly bought one of these about 5 years ago, with a manual. Nicely maintained, definitely over 100k miles, but not super high. I think it was listed at $8k and that was probably the right price then, and still is now. $14k is dreaming. And yes, I’ll be “that guy,” I’d rather have the manual.

This actually already happened in once the early 90's, same problem, same Chicago Ford plant. They took measures to curb the problem, but it didn’t last.

If these cars were in a dry building, they might have the values he’s asking. Nothing good happens to any car, of any mileage, when left in a field or worse for years on end.

My username prevents me from approving of this truck, not to mention your headline specifically called out the fashion-first attitude of this POS.

E46 330i? If you get a well-maintained example, this is a perfectly reliable DD, but can also be a lot of fun on the track. AWD if you really want, but RWD / manual would be easier to find, probably. And I’m sure you could get a nice one under $10k. You could probably get a good E9x for under $15k, actually.

I have a manual too, but I do not find most of my time in the car to be consumed with shifting. Also, how about highway travel? Can you not imagine being tired or sleepy after several hours on the highway? Or distracted by a passenger, or wanting to change the music?

I feel like BMW has had the rear-biased AWD thing figured out from day 1. I know there have been several iterations over the years, but I can say that my E46 is incredibly easy to induce oversteer, any time there is a little snow on the roads - it behaves like RWD except that you can still make forward progress uphill

I’ll stand by my 184 hp E46 and agree with you. I would *no doubt* have gotten a ticket by now with 500hp at my disposal. I would have made MANY more questionable passes on back roads, too.

And, you would think this had been corrected by now... nah. My favorite is the one where it’s sitting next to the Countach.

And.... this is why it will sell.

That’s pretty elaborate... and sounds effective?

Okay, I actually think this isn’t bad looking, and if you took off all the Ferarri stuff, wouldn’t be terrible on its own. The rag top thing is weird, though, where it meets the door frames in particular.

Apparently Alligator Rodeo is the name of a band, because of course.

True for every Florida Man story. Or, for the ones that leave you with questions, there’s always a simple answer: drugs.

On a road trip with my wife in her new-ish Volvo S40, we stopped for coffee. Before getting back in the car, I reached in and put mine on the armrest as I took off my jacket, then hopped into the driver’s seat and immediately elbowed the coffee onto the backseat floor, spilling all of it - cream, sugar, and all

I agree that because it’s already forced induction, the potential for tuning without spending insane amounts is real.

It just occurred to me that in 2000, we were impressed with 251 hp from a 2.7 liter 6-cylinder with TWO turbos.
