I have one neighbor, to the south. Every other direction? Trees.
There’s a guy who works at a gas station near me who drives an A-Team van. It’s all decked out, and it’s always parked at the gas station. So often that I’ve never bothered to take a picture, clearly I’m slacking.
Also have I ever mentioned that when I was 17 we had two near-identical blue chrysler minivans, one was automatic and the other manual?
At my marina job we had 2 tractors. One had a throttle handle that went up/forward/push to increase throttle. The other went down/back/pull for increased throttle. Yeah. Also they were both hydrostatic, but one had a pedal that you rocked forward for, well, forward, and back for reverse. The other had side-by-side…
[This is where I insert my comment about only owning manual transmission cars]
I think you’re onto the real problem here. It’s not that a new design can’t be good - equal or even better than the one it’s replacing - but one that’s just a little different from an otherwise familiar design... that’s potentially dangerous.
That’s the ONE thing Top Gear didn’t try...
The boat does have a windshield, so presumably she cowered behind that. But I’ve driven boats like that and it still sucks.
Haha, thanks. I have other rental boat people who would be total jerks about it while we tried to explain how the lake was shallow and rocky, you really had to watch the chart, buoys, etc. and they would go, “yeah yeah I got this bro” and come back with $1000 in damage because of shallow rocks. But that’s too easy.
I’m not only late, I’m somewhat off topic here, too. But close? My story is about boats rather than cars. Here you go anyway:
Hmmmmmm I feel at the same time stupid and validated...
I had forgotten about that, but it could be worth looking at. It’s on the right track anyway!
Sort of, except in my car there’s a spot where my phone sits easily accessible right in front of the shifter, so it would be silly to duplicate it when it’s right there. Many cars don’t have such a spot, but that’s kind of my gripe in the first place....
Now if there’s ever a reason to get a new car...
Definitely, but a simple plastic adapter solves for that....
My car’s digital display is a single line dot matrix.... so... but I do see your point.
Right, but the phone could just have a “car mode” that does the same thing, no?
